Edmund Grant – Wreck Diver

“I got my Hollis fins yesterday and dove with them at Dutch Springs today. They were very comfortable and I was able to do all variations of kicks with them. This appears to be the last fin I will buy.”

  1. va shagger

Excellent fin. Lots of power. Large foot pocket.

  2. shinythings

Pros – better for flutter kick than traditional paddle style tec diving fins, easy to don/doff with spring straps, reduces cramping
Cons – more difficult to back kick, foot pocket is not tall enough for a large foot which causes numb foot and poor circulation.

Summary: I would use these fins if they didn’t make my feet go numb on account of being too short for someone with a tall foot; however, the blade design is by far my favourite on the market and I recommend these fins to everyone I can.

  3. RachelB

love the slight negative buoyancy, as a lady with floaty feet, The Yellow Tips make me instantly recognisable. Only worry is that with time the yellow might look a little dirty. Snag free. very comfy (with boots). Nearly indestructible, snug around my foot, yet easy to don & doff. 1 year of wearing them… I now look forward to the next decade

  4. ScubaJohn

I started scuba diving in 1985. I’ve used several different fins. For recreational diving, tec diving, and even rough water conditions, the Hollis F-1 Bat Fin is the best fin I’ve used in 30 years of scuba diving (over 5000 dives). Great response, love the big thumb loop on the spring straps. Easy to adjust spring straps for the perfect fit. Great foot pocket for drysuit boots. Love the Hollis F-1 fin

  7. deepdiver

These fins strike an excellent propulsion/manoeuvrability balance. Expect some leg fatigue until you develop the muscle strength to wield them, but after some practice the reward is well worth it.
Would not dive without my F1s ever again!

  8. Tom George

I really love my Hollis F1 Batfins for diving backmount in a drysuit – they are excellent, really well made and have great power and maneuverability.

  9. Maxwel Hohn

My go-to fins for cold water diving! I love using these fins for drysuit diving. They are solid and add the perfect amount of weight to my feet to keep in a neutral horizontal position in the water. They are solid, and I never have to worry about them getting damaged especially when diving in confined environments like wrecks or caves. I use them with my Bare Sentry Pro DrySuit. Would definitely recommend!

  10. George Lerma

I bought these 4 years ago and they are rock-solid, literally and figuratively! – They are on the heavy-side but the power you get from is worth it. I’ve been diving in warm water, cold water, and caverns in Mexico and they have never given me any trouble.
